Rare 0-2 Premium Table Tennis Day: Why We Still Liked Both Plays

League: TT Elite League

Premium Table Tennis Record: 0-2

Even our highest-ROI market is going to have losing days.

Monday delivered one of those rare occasions for the MoonPicks98 Premium Table Tennis card, with both of our official plays coming up short. Neither result changes why these matches qualified as Premium Plays in the first place—the historical data behind both totals was strong.

That is one of the realities of betting: good wagers can lose. The goal isn't to avoid every loss; it's to repeatedly identify situations where the available price appears favorable based on the information available before the match.

And Monday gave us two good examples of variance showing up at the wrong time.

Premium Play #1: Kuba Golaszewski vs. Piotr Stus

Official Play

Over 79.5 (-118)1 Unit

Result

LOSS

Match Result: Golaszewski wins 3-1

This was a matchup we felt very comfortable targeting based on the head-to-head scoring profile.

Why We Liked the Over

The first number that jumped off the page was the historical scoring average:

Head-to-Head Average: 90.4 points

With the sportsbook asking us to clear only 79.5, the historical average sat nearly 11 points higher than the betting line.

The recent Over history was equally impressive.

Last 5 H2H:Over 79.5 in 4 of 5 — 80%

Last 10 H2H:Over 79.5 in 9 of 10 — 90%

Last 15 H2H:Over 79.5 in 12 of 15 — 80%

Those are exactly the consistency levels we want to see before considering a total for the Premium Group.

Zero Sweeps in the Last 15

One of the most important statistics in our Table Tennis model is sweep frequency.

A quick 3-0 match drastically reduces the opportunity to accumulate enough total points to cash an Over.

In this matchup:

3-0 sweeps in the previous 15 meetings: 0

That gave the matchup a 0% historical sweep rate across that sample.

They were also 2-1 to the Over on Mondays, adding another smaller situational indicator in favor of the play.

How Golaszewski vs. Stus Played Out

The match actually produced several competitive sets:

Set 1: Golaszewski 12-10

Set 2: Golaszewski 11-5

Set 3: Stus 12-10

Set 4: Golaszewski 11-7

Golaszewski ultimately won 3-1.

There is one scoring discrepancy worth correcting: the set scores supplied add up to 78 total points, not 77.

That means the official Over 79.5 finished only 1.5 points short.

After a 90.4 historical average and a 90% Over rate across the previous ten meetings, this was a painful example of how close a statistically strong play can come without getting to the window.

Premium Play #2: Michal Minda vs. Jakub Glanowski

Official Play

Over 81.5 (-120)1 Unit

Result

LOSS

Match Result: Glanowski wins 3-1

Final Total: 73 points

The second matchup also presented a strong statistical profile.

Why We Liked Minda vs. Glanowski

Head-to-Head Average: 82.4

The historical average was just above the number we needed, but the strength of the play came from the consistency of their recent Over results.

Last 5 Meetings

Over the relevant historical number in:

4 of 5 — 80%

Last 10 Meetings

8 of 10 — 80%

Last 15 Meetings

11 of 15 — 73%

Across every sample we evaluated, the majority of their meetings produced enough scoring to support another Over.

Sweep Risk Remained Low

Unlike the Golaszewski matchup, there had been a few sweeps here—but not many.

Sweeps in the last 15: 2

Sweep Rate: 13%

That meant 87% of those matches avoided a sweep, another encouraging indicator when targeting an Over.

Then there was the Monday-specific history.

Monday Overs: 16-6

That is roughly a 73% historical Over rate on Mondays.

Day-of-week trends are never something we'd use alone to make a wager, but combined with the broader head-to-head numbers, it added another positive piece to the profile.

How Minda vs. Glanowski Played Out

The match finished 3-1 in favor of Glanowski.

Based on the set scores supplied:

Set 1: Glanowski 11-9

Set 2: Glanowski 11-6

Set 3: Minda 11-9

Set 4: Glanowski 11-5

That produces exactly 73 total points.

The biggest problem wasn't simply that the match ended in four sets. It was the lack of competitive scoring in Sets 2 and 4.

Those two games combined for only 33 points, and once Glanowski controlled the match, the Over never received the extended fifth-set opportunity we were hoping for.

Two Losses Don't Erase the Data

Looking only at Monday's results, it would be easy to say both plays were wrong.

But that's not how we evaluate our process.

Before the matches began, Golaszewski vs. Stus showed:

90.4 H2H average

80% Last 5 Over rate

90% Last 10 Over rate

80% Last 15 Over rate

0 sweeps in 15 meetings

Minda vs. Glanowski showed:

82.4 H2H average

80% Last 5 Over rate

80% Last 10 Over rate

73% Last 15 Over rate

13% sweep rate

16-6 Monday Over record

Those are legitimate reasons to consider both matches.

They simply didn't produce the outcomes we needed this time.

Why Transparency Matters

We've celebrated plenty of Table Tennis sweeps lately, so it's equally important to document a rare 0-2 day.

We aren't going to disappear when plays lose or only post screenshots when everything cashes.

Every play counts. Every result counts.

That's the only way subscribers can fairly evaluate what we're doing over the long run.

Our Premium Table Tennis selections have been our highest-ROI plays, but that doesn't mean they'll win every day.

No betting strategy does.

The goal is to remain selective, manage the bankroll properly, and continue betting where our research identifies value.

Back to Work

Monday didn't go our way.

Tuesday's board doesn't care.

We're already analyzing the next slate, looking at head-to-head totals, scoring distributions, sweep probability, recent form, and current market numbers before deciding whether anything deserves to become an official Premium Play.

Some days there may be several.

Some days there may be one.

And if nothing checks all the boxes, we will pass.

That's the discipline behind MoonPicks98.
