We backed Milwaukee because we liked the combination of its pitching, overall offensive production and bullpen situation. For much of the game, the pick was right where we wanted it.
Then came the seventh inning.
Milwaukee Had the Lead—But Couldn't Finish
The Brewers carried a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the seventh, putting us just nine outs away from cashing the moneyline.
San Diego finally broke through.
The Padres scored two runs in the seventh inning, turning Milwaukee's 2-1 advantage into a 3-2 San Diego lead.
At that point, the Brewers still had time to answer.
They just couldn't do it.
Milwaukee failed to reclaim the lead over the final two innings, and San Diego closed out the 3-2 victory.
That's baseball.
We got a competitive game at -112 and held the lead late, but the bullpen couldn't protect it and the offense couldn't produce the tying run afterward.
A Losing Streak? Yes. Are We Changing the Process? No.
We're not going to hide from the results.
We've hit a bit of a losing stretch, and that's frustrating. Anyone who bets on sports long enough knows stretches like this are part of the game.
But this is also where discipline matters most.
We're not chasing losses. We're not doubling units trying to get everything back overnight. And we're not suddenly changing the entire process because of a few bad results.
We'll continue analyzing the numbers, looking for value and being selective about what makes the card.
The goal isn't to win every single wager—that isn't realistic.
The goal is to consistently find wagers where we believe the probability of winning exceeds the price the market offers, manage the bankroll responsibly, and let those edges play out over the long run.
