Premium Top 5 Recap: Plus-Money Play Cashes as Logan Henderson Delivers
It wasn’t the overall result we wanted from Monday’s Premium Top 5, but there was still an important bright spot on the card.
We finished 2-3, with the Rangers vs. Angels Under 8.5 and Logan Henderson Over 5.5 Strikeouts getting to the window.
Most importantly, Henderson was our plus-money play at +112, and he delivered with 7 strikeouts.
That moves MoonPicks98 to 2-1 this month on our plus-money calls. 🔥🌙
Here’s a breakdown of why we liked all five plays and how they turned out.
❌ Milwaukee Brewers Moneyline -112
Final: Padres 3, Brewers 2
Milwaukee was one of our favorite sides because we liked the combination of starting pitching, overall team performance and the price.
And for most of the night, we were in position to cash it.
The Brewers took a 2-1 lead into the seventh inning, but San Diego scored twice to take a 3-2 advantage. Milwaukee couldn't answer over the final two innings.
This was a frustrating loss because we had the lead late. The handicap gave us a competitive game at a reasonable price, but the Brewers couldn't finish it.
Result: ❌ LOSS
✅ Rangers vs. Angels Under 8.5 -122
Final: Rangers 4, Angels 1
This was exactly the type of total we were looking for.
We liked the pitching environment and believed the Angels offense could struggle to contribute enough runs to push this game over 8.5.
That proved to be the case.
The two teams combined for only five runs, giving us plenty of breathing room beneath the 8.5 total.
We didn't need a sweat. We didn't need a late break.
Under 8.5 cashed comfortably.
Result: ✅ WIN
🔥 Logan Henderson Over 5.5 Strikeouts +112
7 STRIKEOUTS — PLUS-MONEY WINNER! 💰
This was the play we were especially excited about.
We weren't simply trying to find a bet that could win—we were looking for a situation where we believed the probability was better than the price being offered by the market.
Henderson's strikeout numbers made Over 5.5 attractive, and getting it at +112 made it even better.
He needed six.
Henderson finished with SEVEN. ✅
That means our plus-money Premium play CASHED at +112.
And there's a bigger trend developing here.
🚀 MoonPicks98 is now 2-1 on Plus-Money Calls in August!
That's something we're going to continue tracking.
Plus-money wagers don't have to hit at the same percentage as heavily juiced favorites to produce value. When we identify situations where we believe a bet has a legitimate probability advantage while the sportsbook is still offering +100 or better, those are opportunities we want to investigate closely.
We're not going to force them just because they're plus money.
But when the numbers support one?
We're not afraid to take the plus price.
Result: ✅ WIN +112 💰
❌ Baltimore Orioles Moneyline -111
Final: Twins 9, Orioles 5
Baltimore was another near-even-money side where we believed the starting pitching matchup and Minnesota's offensive situation created value.
This one simply didn't develop the way we projected.
Minnesota's offense put up nine runs, completely eliminating the pitching advantage we expected Baltimore to have.
Sometimes the reasoning behind a wager makes sense and the game tells a completely different story.
That's what happened here.
Result: ❌ LOSS
🎣 Sonny Gray Over 4.5 Strikeouts -106
Gray finishes with 4 Ks.
This one hurts.
We needed five strikeouts.
Gray finished with four.
One strikeout away.
We liked the reduced strikeout number and the matchup enough to take Over 4.5 at almost even money. Unfortunately, we ended up on the wrong side of the hook.
Those are some of the toughest losses in player-prop betting because the difference between cashing and losing was literally one strikeout.
But a loss is a loss, and it goes into the record that way.
Result: ❌ LOSS 🎣

Final Record: 2-3
Not the overall card we wanted.
We're not going to dress up a losing day and pretend otherwise. 2-3 is 2-3.
But we're also going to recognize what worked.
💰 PLUS-MONEY CALLS: 2-1 THIS MONTH
The Henderson +112 winner is another example of why price matters so much.
Finding winners is obviously important, but long-term betting isn't simply about win percentage. What you're paying—or getting paid—for those wins matters too.
A bettor laying -200 needs to win approximately 66.7% just to break even.
At +112, the implied break-even probability is only about 47.2%.
That's why we're interested in finding legitimate plus-money opportunities when our analysis suggests the market may be undervaluing the probability.
We're now 2-1 on those plus-money calls this month, and we'll continue hunting for them.
🌙 We Keep Grinding
We've hit a rough stretch overall, and we're not hiding from it.
There will be winning streaks and losing streaks. The response shouldn't be to chase, dramatically increase unit sizes or start forcing bets.
We go back to the numbers.
We evaluate what worked.
We evaluate what didn't.
And then we attack the next slate.
There is a lot of baseball left.
