MoonPicks98 Goes 4–1: Another Profitable Day for Our Premium Plays

Friday’s MoonPicks98 Premium card delivered an outstanding 4–1 record, with four of our five researched plays cashing across the CFL, MLB and WNBA.

Our only loss came from the San Francisco Giants. Every other selection got the job done, including our Free Play on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers -6.5: WIN

Why We Liked It

Ottawa entered the matchup with significant defensive problems, while Winnipeg had the stronger roster, home-field advantage and Zach Collaros returning at quarterback.

The Redblacks had repeatedly struggled to prevent explosive plays and remain competitive for four quarters. We believed Winnipeg’s offense could eventually wear them down and create enough separation to cover the spread.

Brady Oliveira was also positioned for an excellent performance against a vulnerable Ottawa run defense.

The Result

Winnipeg defeated Ottawa 33–21, covering the 6.5-point spread by 5.5 points. Oliveira accumulated 154 total yards and a touchdown, helping the Blue Bombers control the game and finish the job. Official CFL recap

San Francisco Giants Moneyline: LOSS

Why We Liked It

Our handicap centered on the starting-pitching matchup.

San Francisco starter Landen Roupp entered with underlying numbers that were considerably stronger than his surface-level ERA. Colorado starter Kyle Freeland, meanwhile, had struggled throughout the season and entered with particularly concerning road numbers.

We expected Roupp to limit hard contact and believed the Giants could take advantage of Freeland at Oracle Park.

The Result

This was the one matchup that went against our projections.

Freeland produced one of his best starts of the season, allowing only one run across eight innings. Zac Veen supplied the biggest offensive blow with a two-run home run, and Colorado defeated San Francisco 5–2. Roupp surrendered four earned runs over 5⅔ innings. Game recap

The matchup offered value before the game, but Freeland decisively outperformed both his season-long form and our expectations.

Miami Marlins–Cincinnati Reds Under 8: WIN

Why We Liked It

This selection was built around two quality starting pitchers.

Sandy Alcantara entered in excellent form after throwing 20 consecutive scoreless innings. Chase Burns carried a 2.61 ERA into the matchup and possessed the strikeout ability to shut down a Miami offense that had struggled to consistently manufacture runs.

Although Great American Ball Park is generally favorable to hitters, the pitching matchup outweighed the ballpark concern. Our expectation was that both starters would limit early scoring and give the under a strong foundation.

The Result

The game became an even stronger pitchers’ duel than anticipated.

Burns threw seven scoreless innings, allowing four hits while recording eight strikeouts. Alcantara also worked seven excellent innings and extended his scoreless streak to 25 innings before surrendering the game’s only run.

Dallas Wings–Indiana Fever Under 187.5: WIN

Why We Liked It

Indiana owned one of the WNBA’s most productive offenses, but the market had pushed the total extremely high.

Dallas entered without several important contributors, including Azzi Fudd, Jessica Shepard and Aziaha James. Those absences reduced the Wings’ offensive depth and made it more difficult to sustain scoring for four quarters.

We believed the total required a nearly perfect offensive performance from both teams. That created value on the under at 187.5.

The Result

Indiana pulled away in the fourth quarter and won 98–87. The teams combined for 185 points, allowing our under to cash by 2.5 points.

Caitlin Clark scored 29 points for Indiana, while Paige Bueckers scored 29 for Dallas. Even with both stars delivering major offensive performances, the elevated total remained just high enough. Official WNBA game summary

Chris Sale Over 6.5 Strikeouts: WIN

Why We Liked It

Sale entered the matchup with a 2.20 ERA and was averaging more than seven strikeouts per appearance.

The Diamondbacks presented a competitive lineup, but Sale still offered elite swing-and-miss ability. At a line of 6.5 and plus-money odds, we believed seven strikeouts was an attainable target with excellent value.

This prop also allowed us to back Sale’s individual performance without depending on Atlanta’s offense or bullpen to win the game.

The Result

That distinction proved important.

Atlanta lost 2–0, but Sale delivered six strong innings, allowing only one run and recording nine strikeouts. He cleared the prop by 2.5 strikeouts despite receiving no offensive support. MLB video recap

It was a perfect example of why player props can sometimes offer better value than a traditional moneyline.

A Strong Night Built on Multiple Markets

Friday’s success did not come from relying on one sport or one type of wager. The 4–1 card included:

• A CFL point spread

• An MLB moneyline

• An MLB game total

• A WNBA game total

• An MLB player prop

That diversification allowed us to attack the strongest individual opportunities instead of forcing every selection into the same market.

The Giants play did not work, but disciplined flat staking and four winning selections still produced a highly profitable day.
